Chapter 13 - Jealousy?

When I got back to class, Uniqua seemed the same than in the morning. She was, actually, more angry than she was before. I dediced once again not to say anything and wait for her to calm down a bit. When the bell rang indicating the end of the class and everyone was already gone I took a risk.

A- Erm... Uniqua?

U- WHAT? - Maybe it wasn't a good idea. She looked mad and wasn't looking directly at me. I insisted.

A- You see... I don't think you should get that mad about this hole story...

U- Hmpf, go on, say that stupid fangirls are right, cuz that's what you think too, huh? - She was already packing her stuff and then got up to leave the room. I stood up as well and kept talking.

A- No, that's not it, I'm not saying they're right. I just think you shouldn't get mad at them.

U- I DO get mad! And what do YOU know about what happened, anyways? - Uniqua started walking and I followed her.

A- I don't know abot what happened, I just think that, if they consider you a classless person then they don't worth any feeling of yours. They don't deserve any attention coming from you, is it of madness or not. - we got out of the classroom and stood up in front of little banch near the door. - Uniqua, you gotta beleive you're better than them, no matter what they say.

Uniqua kept quiet for a moment. She turned down her head and said in a calm way, feeling kinda guilty.

U- Austin, I'm sorry... for yelling at you. - she sat in the banch, still looking down, and I sat beside her - It's just... you know, I don't like taking those abusiveness home.

A- Then I still don't understand why you yelled at Tyrone, at the first place, instead of talking to those girls. Cuz you know, Tyrone doesn't have any fault of what they said, you gotta admit it.

U- Oh, I know, but... Tyrone was the one they were talking about, Tyrone's the one who they admire and love, I don't know why, I saw in him the fault of everything and ended up fighting in that way. I'm feeling kinda guilty now, but still, he didn't need to defend those fans when I thought he was going to defend me and fight with them. Instead, he called me "mad for nothing". What the hell!

A- Yep, I got surprised as well with his attitude, but in my view he got surprised that you yelled at him and not with those girls.

U- Hm, maybe... - Uniqua had calm down and was looking up. Maybe she was thinking of something else...? - Austin, do you... ever felt... jealous?

Her question got me on surprise. Jealous? What does that had in common with what we were talking about?

A- Hm... I guess not, at least I don't remember it. But why? Uniqua, did you listened something today that annoyed you? Something about Tyrone? - this time, I got her on surprise and I bet I guessed right, even if her answer was "no".

U- What? Nooo, no way, nothing related... I was just thinking... cuz it's a weird feeling, know? I'm not even sure if I ever felt it before, I'm kinda confused in here... But let's forget that! Anyways, I gotta go. Thank you for making me feel better, Austin, it really meant a lot to me! - she gave me a kiss on the cheek and once again I was got on surprise. - See you tomorrow! - she got up and runned away.

I stayed sit for a while, watching her going away, then got up and started walking home as well.

A- "No... problem."

Even if that thanking kiss made me surprised, I was worrying about something else. Uniqua, for sure, wasn't mad only about those girls saying bad things about her and Tasha, something waaay bigger was behind all that.
